My Opinion On Reading

I see people all of the time walking around with a book in their hand.  There are tons of people who spend every chance they get reading a book.  Even if it is just for one page and then put it down.  I am one of those people who will never pick up a book after I get out of school.  I believe reading is boring and a waste of time.  I don't have the patients to sit down and read words.  I would rather sit there and stare off into space. I understand that you can learn a lot from reading and you can enjoy books if you have a big imagination.  Books have never got my attention, and I can't read them outside of school.  In my opinion, there are far more important things to do than read.  Some people tell me that I should read a certain book because it's amazing.  I have no doubt that it is but I am not the person to take time out of my day to read.  One of the biggest books that my friends tell me I must read is the Hunger Games. I hear everyone always talking about it and passing the book around after someone is done with it.  There has even been some people who have finished that book in a day!  To be honest, you probably couldn't pay me to read a book.  No matter how good they are, books don't interest me.

  1. I agree with you. When I was younger, like fourth to 8th grade, I loved books they were so mug fun to read and to use my imagionation. Now that I'm older and have a job and homework, reading takes to much time. You can call me a typical teen but now I only want to sleep. Reading black and white words for hours on end is now just a waste, especially when we have books on tape and on the ipod. If rather listen to it then read it, but i do like your opinion.

  2. I am also one of those people who is hard to get interested in reading. I love learning, and being shown new things that I have never seen or understood before, but picking up a book and being determined to read it has never been a strong point for me. If I hear a book is really interesting or everyone's reading it, then I always attempt to start it and see where it takes me. But, I have to admit that I was one of those people who read the first Hunger Games book in a day. If a book gets me on the edge of my seat within the first four chapters, I won't put it down until I know the outcome. I do have a few favorite books, but I can't say I am an avid reader. I love learning, but I choose to do it in other ways, instead of picking up a book.

  3. Honestly, I WAS the same way. I bet you could be persuaded, though! You never know. When I was younger, I loved books. Then, as I got older, I started to think they were a waste of time. Now, I can honestly say I love books again. I feel as though you shouldn't say that you'll never pick up a book after you're done with school. You really never know. One day, you might get bored and there might be this book sitting in front of you, calling out to you, so you start reading it. It could happen! In fact, I'm willing to bet on it.
